I played for Cotham Park in the 1960`s I wonder if anyone knows where the following are :- Ken Tyrrel,Alan Devonald, John Nutton, Chester Ardis John Hellins,Brian Griffiths and Richard Harris. I would love hear from anyone from that era, A bit of sad news David jones who moved to NZ in the 70`s died a year ago.
I was delighted to read your e-mail. How long have you been in New Zealand? And are you still involved with the "box" job? I left general practice and went into the hospital service in the 1970's, after further qualifications. I spent some time in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Canterbury, and am now retired and living in Wickham, in Hampshire. I last spoke to you in Stokes Croft, St. Pauls, in approx. late 1960's. Wendy and I were divorced in 1988 and I eventually married Anne.
I would love to hear your history since we last met.
Kind regards,
Ken
PS -any likelihood of you ever visiting UK?

Ron Peters, played scrum half, 1960/71.
with Ken Tyrrell, last night, spoke to John Hellins on phone yesterday
and Roy Phillips phoned me today, with Frank Nesbitt last month, hows that for keeping in touch. Last time I saw Derek Griffiths (who played many times as my out-side half ) last season, still got a great head of hair and looking fit (70+). All these names including your god self, and I expect many others, will crop up next month at the Cotham Park Dinner on 25 April. If you would like to contact anyone else please email me before date, and I will try to find out if they are still in the land of living
Kind Regards Ron Peters,
Hi Ron,
Plenty of old names, that I can remember, are appearing on this web site. I well remember the likes of John Hillings, Frank Nesbitt, Len Diggins, Len Robson, Jim Lonnen, Brian Morse, Tony Thatcher, John Nutton, Pete Frost etc. The list is almost endless.
I have lived in Australia since 1974 and stopped playing competitevely in 1994. I am now 65. I spent 5 years employed as Operations Manager for the South Australian Rugby Union from 1997 to 2002.
I am still working as a manager of a plumbing company in Adelaide. No thoughts of retiring as yet but who knows what next year will bring.
I have only been back to the UK twice since 1974 and called to the Park club rooms in 2002 only to find them closed.
I hope to call back there again next year and hopefully catch up with some of the past players.
Best wishes to all.

Hello John
I am sure you remember me. Do you recall you used to joke about Mike Dean's clique?
I was sad to learn that David Jones had passed away. Didn't he leave Bristol to become Crown Counsel in Fiji? The last time I saw him was when I had an offchance game for 'Park after returning from South Africa in 1971.
I have been living in Singapore since 1986. I married a Thai girl and we have a 13 year old daughter Jennifer. I am now 67 and gave up rugby finally in 1984.
I would love to get in touch with the old rogues like Mike Fry, Quickie, Frottie, Jordy, etc. We could try to arrange a pissup at the Stage Door. That was the pub with so much beer soaked into the carpets that your feet stuck to them.
I wonder how John Nutton is now. He would be knocking on - maybe past 70 now.
Please fell free to contact me directly at bryan_divall@yahoo.com.sg
It would be great to hear from you.
Hello Brian Divall,
After 20-odd years of trying to find you, I've finally met with success!
The last time we met was at the Bristol County Ground Cricket Club for the Club's Annual Dinner, back in the early 1980's.
How are you keeping? My rugby-playing days finished in France in 1973, so you out-lasted me!
A few names on the 'Park Website which bring back memories - Ken Tyrell, Roy Phillips, Frank Nesbitt, Roger Evans, Derek Griffiths, Ron Peters, John Nutton, Mike Fry, Malcolm Jordan, Pete Frost, Leon Quick, John Hellings, Chester Ardis, and the late Dave Jones.
Plenty more to conjure with from the "good old days" - Dai Brown, Noel Davies (who could afterwards describe every daisy he ran around during a match), Ian Barnes, Bob Arbury, Wynne Buckley, and of course Stan Smith, Robbie, Len Diggines, Ivor Johns, and many others whose names I can't recall at the moment.
It's now 7.15 pm. I tried to ring John Nutton earlier. Found his 'phone number on the Internet. He's out at the moment, but his wife (who I've never met) said his is due back around 8 o'clock. I'll let you know how I get on with the little Yorkshireman!
Would be glad to hear from anyone who remembers me.
